It’s almost the end of January! Can you believe it? The first month of 2014 is already coming to a close.

Is that a symptom of age? The older you get, the faster the years go by? I remember being 8 years old and thinking that I can’t ever grow up fast enough. This January, I turned 24 – and boy, do I feel my age!

Don’t get me wrong through, because 24 is awesome. There’s always something exciting about the new year. Hope is so palpable, and fresh starts so promising.

The day I turned 24, my family surprised me with these Jeterra Fine Foods cuppycakes.

I knew my mother bought me cupcakes for my birthday, but there were little details that really surprised me. I kept and stuck “Najee @ 24 ♥” inside my journal. It made me so happy.

Needless to say, the cupcakes weren’t bad at all! I’m used to vanilla-based or chocolate-based cupcakes, so when I bit into one of these babies, I looked at my mother and said, “Well! That’s surprising!”

She got me Banana Caramel cupcakes, which wasn’t overpoweringly sweet, had something that reminded me of custard in the center, and had a bit of a crunch. I adore banana bread, so a Banana Caramel cupcake is actually right up my alley.

Leave it to my mother to always have good taste in cupcakes. ;)
